How To Measure The Success Of Your Healthy Lifestyle

One of the best measures of success in lifestyle change is an improvement in how you feel physically and mentally.
Do you have more energy?
Do you feel more motivated and in control?

Answereing yes is a great indicator about your whether or not your lifestyle is changing for the better, especially since health and well-being is measured by how you think and feel and not just the change to your body shape.

Being aware of how your eating habits have changed and also being more physically active is a good sign that you have changed for the better.  Your fat distribution is a good indictaor, losing inches around the waist and upper body will reduce health risks and you will be happy with who you see in the mirror.

Measuring your weight is not such a good measure of success when you first start changing your lifestyle habits, putting too much emphasis on your weight is not a good idea.  When you start losing weight you may put on a little extra, but don't worry as everyone is different but you will eventually start trimming down.

Measuring your success doesn't start and end with your bathroon scales, it is measured by how you feel, if you are starting to feel great about yourself and being more active then you are leading a healthier lifestyle.

If you haven't already, make the change that you need and be healthy, it's now time to Reshape Your Health

No Fat Is Bad For Your Health

For the unaware dieter.  If you think that cutting out fats or only consuming a very small amount of fat is going to help your health you have been misinformed.  Yes you will lose weight but this is because your body starts eating it's reserve fat supply.  If you starve your body of fats altogether you will start having side effects, the most common complaint is feeling cold all of the time, especially in your hands and feet, another complaint is sore bones and joints.

Many people have the misconception that if they eat fat it is turned directly into fat around your stomach and thighs, this is not true.  Your body needs fat to process hydrophobic nutrients such as vitamin E, so without fat you will also starve yourself of essential vitamins.

Artificial trans fat is a fat that you need to avoid, this fat is directly related to heart disease.  This fat can be found in hardened vegetables oils which is used in many spreads and processed foods.

All fats need to be consumed in moderation, a good way to keep your daily fat intake is to take supplements, the most common being Omega 3, there are also supplements for Omega 6 polyunsaturates which are derived from safflower oil and they contain essential natural acids.

My conclusion is to go for a low fat diet instead of a no fat diet, just make sure you are giving your body the right nutrients and vitamins.  Some meal replacement diets are a good way of providing the right nutrients, vitamins and minerals, but be sure to choose one that requires you to still eat good healthy food and one that supplements your vitamin levels.

Green Tea For Everyday Good Health

Green Tea, the healthiest tea of all.  The benefits of greent tea cannot be underestimated nor should they be ignored.  This natural, herbal tea has been used for centuries and of late it is seeing a resurgance among those who are leading healthier lifestyles.

Studies have shown that green tea is rich in catechin polyphenols, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG).  EGCG is a powerful antioxidant that has been proven to inhibit the growth of cancer cells, it actually kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue.

Green tea is also being used for weight loss because it can help burn calories and suppress your appetite, it can lower LDI cholestorol levels and inhibit the formation of abnormal blood cells.

The ancient chinese were definitely aware of the benefits that green tea can have on you, even tooth decay can be slowed by adding green tea to your daily routine.  There is no negetives to using green tea, some people make complaints when they read that there is caffeine in green tea, but the levels of caffeine are so small that you have nothing to worry about, your average cup of coffee has about thirty times more caffeine.

Green tea is made with the leaves from the Camellia Sinensis.

To keep the good qualities the leaves are subject to very minimal oxidation during the processing stage.

Greent Tea is widely available but once it is in the hands of a company the taste will be altered so it is original to the certain brand.  Perhaps this is a good thing to many western consumers, drinking tea in it's natural form is not very appealing to most people.
Although the tea may be altered in some small way the benefits are still there, it is a matter of finding a brand that you like.  I can't say that I recommend supermarket brands after drinking real green tea and although I know it can be an acquired taste, after only a few cups of green tea you will be converted.

When green tea is combined with other natural herbs it makes for a great tasting, refreshing drink that can be enjoyed either hot or cold.

Replace your daily coffee with a healthy cup of green tea to start living an even healthier lifestyle, spread the word of green tea and enjoy.
